Former Ticat Great Holding Football Camp

Danny McManus QB / Receiver Camp
The BMFA is pleased to announce the running of a camp specifically for budding Quarterbacks and Receivers.

The camp will be run by Danny McManus and his coaching crew, and will take place on July 30th / 31st from 6pm to 8pm at the Nelson Tyke field (next to the Nelson Stadium), Burlington.

The cost of the program is actually $75 plus taxes per player, but the BMFA is subsidizing this opportunity, so BMFA members only pay $50 plus taxes.

2-0 Preseason Means Nothing But.

Yes I Said it
2-0 in the Preseason Means nothing who Stays and who goes is all it Teaches us.
a Great Game by Jason Maas and Timmy Chang did nice Job of Help us Get in for the Win.
I think Timmy May be #2 this Season.

The Defence has to learn to be Quicker to Start or we could down by a lot more then 3 Points.
it was nice Effort.
Some time today The Cuts will Come
Some Good Ball Players will Unemployed.
I want Thank Them here for Trying to make our Team Better in 2007.

Game Day Jitters even some Fans get them

8:24 AM They Day Before our Preseason Game with the Bombers.
I am already starting to Feel the the Game Day Jitters
there Quite Mild Right now
Tried to go back to bed but forget it I won't sleep.

The Stadium is Calling me Called me Home
I hear the Cheers From Ghost from our past When I walk it's Halls
Tomorow Can't come soon Enough..

I've allways had the Game day Jitters as a Fan and as a Player back in HS.
When I Played in HS
I Get so Hyper that my Coaches had to keep me Busy.
If they did't
I Be So Hyped up
I'd be Tired by Half Time.

As Fan I Still get the Jitters a Day Before a game Right up till kickoff.
I am so Tired after a Ticats Game
it takes me a Day to Recover.
I love the kickoff of new season

The Kickoff to a new season is always Special.
This year with the Dawn of new Era it's even more Special.
May the Football Gods Smile Apond this Ticat Team and Season.

Video for Hitch and Mike

Even Heroes Die but Legends Live on

Mike on Side lines Fathers day 2007

Hitch's Last Practice with Hamilton Fathers Day 2007

June 18 2007 will live as a day of Infamy for me Personaly.
They Day Rob Hitchcock and Mike Morreale where let go .
These Men where Legends in Tigercat Land
Hamilton Boys doing us Proud.

Being a Hard Core Fan has High as lows this is one of the lows .
There last Practice Fathers day 2007 .
Hitches Family Showed up to watch the Warror on the Gridiron.
Then After Seeing Rob Pick up his young Son.
I will never Shake the Image from my head ever.

For me this could handle a touch Better
The Team Put Both men's photos on The Season tickets For this year.
Why Put them threw a Camp when we Knew our Canadian Depth could be real good.
Having Them on the Ticats Season Tickets to me now is just bad PR.

Being at Camp Every day Watching Practice alot
I got know these men over the past few years.
There are great people and The Ticats would wise to keep them Close.
For me it the End of Era and dawn of new one..

It allways Darkest before the dawn.
Thank God Legends Live on Forever

Feeling Hot Hot Hot

For The Past Two
days the Sun has Roast the Field at Mac.
Today Coach Taaffe was Little mad at offence
He was Pushing the Guys hard.
Something that was missing under other Coaches the past few years.

With his Military Back Ground Coach Taaffe is Hard Noised but Fair.
He can joke but still keep the Men of Tigerville Focused
This former two Time CFL Coach Of Year was Miked up by the Staff Of Ticats.ca
It Really Gives an Idea what Players hear and Learn under this great Head Coach.

I have Grown to Respect The Coaches we have
They are Great People and Teachers.
Marcel did a Great Job with The Hire Of Charlie.
Then Charlie Pick some Great Teachers to Coach His Tiger-cats for 2007.
From Mike Nelson to Coach Goldmen to Coach Ed ONeal All Great Teachers.

Camp has been Hard in the Heat at Mac
The coaches have made it Tough but Fair
That is all any Fan or Player Could Hope for.

No Rest for Team Back to work today

After a Promising win in the Peg,
The Ticats will be back on the field Today at 3:30

Alot Players Step Up in the Peg Timmy Chang for one
I said Chang was going to be Special
so Far my Words have been Ringing True.

Jojo Walker had great Game as did Nick Setta and Mark Myers

Our Defence look Steel Town Tough as they picked off 5 Passes
Two by Rookie Standout Dwight Anderson

But this was just a Dress Rehearsal as now the get to play In Front of the home Town Fans.
The next few Days There will be some cuts. People will gooing home leaving Steel Town behind.
One may be Shawn King . He looked lost out in the peg . Some NFL Players just can't make the Adjustment to 3 down football King is one of them IMO.

Today at 3:30 They will Starting Banging heads .
I want see how the coaching staff get our boys ready for a Home game.
I be at Practice Today Monday Wednesday and then at Game on Friday
My Seat Awaits behind the Ticat Bench in Box J.

The Steel Town Crowds can Turn on you Very Quickly .
I am looking forward to 5th Quater on www.900chml.com after the game
May Charlie and Team Be Ready Cause Our Home Town Crowds are Steel Town Tought.

It not Even Prseason and Jason Mass can Here the boo Birds

The Black and Gold Scrimmage was All Black Yesterday As Defence Dominated
For more then Week the Defence was in wating to nail somebody..
The Clock Ticking tic tic tic.

I was Talking with Sandy Beveridge
He said all Defence Guys Could talk about was when is the Scrimmage ...When is the Scrimmage
For a Week They Waited then Yesterday The Defence Pounce on the Offence..

I am not Surprised by this at All
Charlie Offence System Takes Time to get down.
Your not going have down after 1 Week of Training Camp .
Cause it so Complex..

The Offence well have a Good Grasp of it By Mid-Season
But it will take time to master it..
When Charlie was in Montreal as the OC then the Head Coach
It Took Time for Montreal Quaterbacks AC and Tracy Ham to get The Playbook down.
Then When Charlie was a OC in US Collage Ball with Maryland
He add more Verbiage and plays to already Thick Book.

The Team in Maryland Started Scoreing like Crazy under this playbook.
So now back in the CFL the playbook is 3 Times as Thick as it was back in Montreal in 2000.
Charlie and his Staff Will have to Help our Offence learn the Jungle of a new larger book of plays

Defence is Always Head of the Offence this time of year
By Mid Season that will Change.
Poor Jason Maas Can't Get a break from the Fans on Ticats .ca
Already Calling for his head after the Scrimmage
Not a Game but a Live Scrimmage !
I say to these so called Fans Get a Life.!!!
Get Educated to the game
Come out watch the Practices and Teaching going on .
With Huge new Playbook and New Coaching Staff.
It will Take Time for the Cat Offence to Pounce

Have Faith they will Come around
Nuff Said.

Ticats Going to the Hogs...

We talk about the Quaterbacks Mass Chang Willams King
We talk about the Running backs Davis Holmes and Lumsden
We Even talk about the Wide Recivers and Slot Backs
But do any of us Really Talk about Heart of any Football Team
The Offence Line or Hoggies for Short.

This Men who Job it is open holes or Close them and Keep the Defence at Bay.
The Life of a Linemen is Hard
Cause if Miss a Block it could cost you an bad Play or an Injury .

These men who don't want the Spotlight
They Work Sweating and Grunting Opening Holes for our Running backs.
Then after the Playis over they do all over again next play
a Thankless job.

But without the Hoggies there would be no Scores .
Two of My Personal Heroes are Guard George Hudson and Tackle Pascal Cheron.
Both are coming off Major Knee Operations from Last year.
Both are working they Way back Slowly on to the Gridiron.

Both Proud Family Men and I am Proud to call them Friends.
George is Local Boy From Near by Niagara Falls Area
Pascal is from Quebec and he loves Playing in Hamilton

Some People Don't understand the work it takes to be a Offence Linemen
1st off the Stance and How your Feet are apart in that Stance Effects your Blocking
also you can't hold the Defence with your hands .
You have Push them away with holding on
Not as easy as it looks.

The Hoggies are Special Breed of men
who take great pride in their work
when Jason Completes Pass not Hassled by the Pass Rush or Corry Break Long Run.
You See George and His Hoggies Pals Smile with Pride.
That is the Reward for an Offence Linemen
It is not Cheering or Adoring Crowd But knowing the did there job Well.

Next Offence Series The Do All Again
With Quiet Pride The Hoggies are a Special Breed Indeed
That why Hamilton Tigercats are going to the hogs.

Wide Receivers and Slot Backs the Jesters of Football

June 5th 2007
Man it windy and Cold today at Mac
But I was just lucky to be there.
On my Way home from the June 4th Morning Practise
My Car was nearly Hit by Turning Transport.
That Cause me to lose my Brakes.
I am Lucky I am okay.

It is things like this that make you think about life. I love Football.
It a been part of my Life for a Long time.
since I was 10 years old.
I grew up loving the Game.
The Smell of the Field
The Sounds of Tackles Passes and Cheers.
To Me a Day with Football is like day without Sunshine or Air.

That is what made Today so Special
It made Me Even more Happy to be a Ticats Fan.
I bleed Black and Gold from my Soul.
The great People and the Staff I have Met From the Ticats.
It Make s the Effort to Come to Practice and Training Camp Every day
Worth it.
Just to see the Faces to Joke and Chat one more Day with them All..
When I Look the Wide Receivers and Slot Backs Our Court Jesters of this Team.
I Have to think about Kwame Cavil & Talman Gardner.

These Two are Always Cracking Jokes at Camp or Singing a Tune.
They know how to keep work light and fun.
After interviewing Talmen you get see what Great young man he is.
It made me Appreciate my life Even more

On a Side Note
I Spoke to Corry Holmes Yesterday.
He Told me his Family is doing well
His Young Baby Daughter is now 9 months is walking
He Also told me His Wife started a Day Care Back Home
they Bought Building Very Close to his home.
Corry Told me he was Driving the Bus for his Wife in the off Season.

It nice to see the Human Side of these men
who go into Battle for us Ticat fans and for Hamilton Pride

Vets Hit the Field

Mass Behind the O-Line

June 3 2007,
The Veteran Players hit the field for the 1st time in 2007

Missing was George Hudson #52 . I Found this odd ..
Something has to be up.

The Field was Buzzing with Activity on both sides.
I really Enjoying watching the 7 on 7 Drills
DB vs the WR..

Again the Practices are very up Tempo with the Staff
With Players Needing lots of Water
Then Dillon was there to save the day.

There was a Version of Bulling ring
A Drill I saw Quite a bit in my High School Days.

The coaches line up offence and Defence Lines
Then Call a Number and one Defence players would Rush Passer

Trying to reach a Blocking Dummy behind the OLine.

Playing with looking good Today

OFFENCE :
83 Talman Gardner WR
28 Jesse Lumsden, RB
11

QB Jason Maas
18 Mike Morreale, SB

DEFENCE:
9 Nautyn McKay-Loescher DT/DE
90 Clinton WayneDT
20 Dwight Anderson DB

It was great Morning looking forward to next Day I am at Camp Watching and Reporting
