MCMANUS RETURNS TO TICATS

The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that Danny McManus has joined the organization as a coaching consultant.

In his new role, McManus will assist offensive coordinator Marcel Bellefeuille as well as work with the Ticats quarterbacks. McManus previously served as a guest coach during training camp.

“Danny is one of the most popular players in Ticats history, but much more importantly he has a great understanding of the CFL game, and what it takes to win in this league,” said President Scott Mitchell. “The Ticats are very fortunate to be able to add almost two decades worth of CFL expertise and experience to our organization."

McManus played eight seasons with the Ticats, breaking several team passing records including career passing yards (33,841), career touchdown passes (164), career pass completions (2,368) and single season passing yards (5,334). In 1999, he enjoyed his finest season in Black and Gold, earning the CFL Most Outstanding Player award, was named both a CFL and East Division All-Star and was named Most Valuable Player in the team’s 1999 Grey Cup victory.

“After observing Danny in training camp, we believe he is a terrific addition to our coaching staff. His presence provided a positive influence for our quarterbacks and we look forward to him working with our players and staff moving forward,” remarked general manager Bob O’Billovich.
