CATS ADD QUARTET TO ROSTER


Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today the signings of non-import fullback Robert Pavlovic, non-import defensive end Adam Kania, import linebacker James Kinney and import offensive lineman Steve Cully. All four players will report to the team’s rookie camp on Tuesday, May 27.

Pavlovic, a 6-4, 255-pound native of Mississauga, Ontario was selected by the Ticats in the fourth round (25th overall) of the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft. The 23-year-old spent the past four seasons at South Carolina, where he was used primarily as a blocking tight end.

Kania, a 6-4, 266-pound native of Toronto, Ontario was the Ticats sixth-round (43rd overall) choice in the 2007 Draft after playing four seasons at St. Francis Xavier. In 31 games with the X-Men, Kania made 105 total tackles (88 solo) including 21.5 for 120 yards in losses and 12.5 quarterback sacks and was twice named an AUS All-Star.

Kinney, a 6-1, 240-pound native of Kankanee, Illinois played four seasons at Missouri, where he recorded 434 tackles, two interceptions, nine quarterback sacks, 25 tackle for losses, three forced fumbles, seven fumble recoveries and one blocked kick in 46 games. After his collegiate career, the 25-year-old made NFL stops with the New York Jets and Jacksonville Jaguars.

Cully, a 6-4, 325-pound native of New Hartford, New York spent four years at Connecticut before pro stints with NFL Europe’s Rhein Fire and Cologne Centurions as well as the af2’s Albany Conquest.
