lingerie bowl has been canceled

The boobtastic event had to be called off because the organizers couldn't get the proper permits in time.
you want to see a football game on Sunday, you'll just have to make do with big-shouldered men in helmets.

Come halftime of Super Bowl XLII, the ladies of the Lingerie Bowl will be nowhere in sight. The halftime extravaganza of panties and shoulder pads has been canceled.

And Horizon Productions, the Bowl's Hollywood-based promoter, said it's mainly Scottsdale's fault.

The city took so long to process permits for what was first a huge downtown block party and then a golf-course brawl that the Bowl did not have time to find alternate plans, Horizon's Chris Martin told the Associated Press. It was not for lack of local publicity.

Since the Bowl first came up last February, the company has been the subject of endless buzz. More than 200 women showed at the Jackrabbit Supper Club & Lounge in August to try out for a spot, and Jenna Jameson herself reportedly would help draw some 15,000 fans.
Trying to bait Scottsdale Mayor Mary Manross into more Pink Taco outrage, the organizers sent her lingerie and flowers.

She didn't bite.

It was to have been the fourth Lingerie Bowl — the first outside of its Los Angeles hometown.

In November, a fed-up Martin said the game was giving up on Scottsdale and its regulations and moving to private property, but it apparently was too late to make this happenin' happen.

His only action of the season came in the Tiger-Cats 34-31 pre-season loss to Toronto on June 17th when he completed two of his three pass attempts for 11 yards…was released prior to the opening of the Ticats 2006 training camp due to injury…

Where is he now ?:

He signed with AAFL Team in Michigan

Where are They Now Kevin Eakin

Kevin Eakin was a Backup QB for Hamilton Ticats for 2005 and 2006 Seasons.

Background Info:

He originally was signed by the New York Jets, who allocated him to the now-defunct Frankfurt Galaxy of NFL Europa, where he was the starting quarterback ahead of former heralded #3 overall draft pick Akili Smith. After being invited to Jets training camp in 2005, he appeared in 2 preseason games and was the last person cut before the season.

He spent the next season in the Canadian Football League with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, and spent most of the season as backup to controversial starter Jason Maas. After the 2006 CFL season,

Eakin went right across the border and signed with the NFL's Buffalo Bills, who once again allocated him to Frankfurt. With the demise of NFL Europa, Eakin returned to Buffalo, but because of depth issues (he stood fourth behind J. P. Losman, Craig Nall, and draft pick Trent Edwards), he saw no playing time and was released.

However, after the release of third string QB Craig Nall, Eakin was signed onto the Buffalo Bills practice squad to serve as the team's emergency quarterback

Where is he now :?
He was released by the Bills and Signed with AAFL Team in ALABAMA

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats bolstered their defensive backfield today announcing that the team has signed import defensive backs Dennis Mitchell, Bo Smith and Matt Griebel.

“We’re looking for guys who can come in and help our team be much better in the backfield,” said general manager Bob O’Billovich. “Dennis, Matt and Bo all had great showings in the B.C. Lions' training camp last season. Matt is an aggressive, hard-hitting safety with good range and great instincts. With players like Dennis and Bo who have tremendous speed, versatility and athletic ability, it will allow our team to be better in man-to-man coverage and help us become a much better defence.”

Mitchell, a 5-8, 180-pound defensive back appeared in five games with the B.C. Lions last season after a four-year collegiate career at Western Kentucky. The Jackson, Tennessee native recorded 18 defensive tackles, four special teams tackles and one fumble recovery in his first CFL season. He is Staying

"I am the Head Coach of the Hamilton Tiger-Cats, I was yesterday, I am today and I'm hopefully going to be for years to come,” said Taaffe. “Despite untruthful reports that surfaced Thursday of this week that I had accepted a job West Virginia University, I thought it was important to let all the Tiger-Cats fans know the only place I want to coach is in Hamilton. We started something last year that obviously was disappointing, but I'm fully committed to working as hard as possible for the great fans of Hamilton to get this thing turned in the right direction”.

a Chat With UWV Fan who Runs a Blog

This Interview Jeremy Johnston, from Wheeling, West Virginia.
He has a blogspot site as well, dedicated to WVU sports
We Decide to Interview each other about Charlie Taaffe
Here are My Questions to him they are in Red

1 has Anyone Seen Charlie at UWV

We have seen him in brief stints. Charlie was the OC at Maryland during arguably the best stretch in their history. WVU and Maryland play every season (up until next year when it takes a 2 year break), so we are somewhat familiar with how he did. We are uncertain, though, as to how much of the huge offensive success was due to him or the head coach there. Either way, they real ly beat us badly when Taaffe was on the staff there.

2 who would the Mountaineers Get if Charlie honors his contact and stays in Hamilton
This is still really up in the air. There have been a few names mentioned, such as Bill Legg of Purdue, but there appears to be no frontrunner other than Taaffe. At least no one that has been made public.

3 What are your Thought about this issuie
I think the situation sucks. WVU has been through this with our basketball coach last season, and our football coach about a month ago. I think it's unfair to players, fans, administrators, and assistants when a coach bails out while under contract. If this comes to fruition, I will honestly feel bad for the Ticats and everyone associated with them. I am also a bit disappo inted that WVU would approach their hire this way, especially after we've been burned ourselves. I think most WVU fans and bloggers would agree with that sentiment, but it appears that this is just how things operate these days. That, in itself, is a sad commentary about the sporting society right now.
4 what kind coach is your head man
Bill Stewart is a great man and, I think, a great coach. He's been in the CFL before, and has coached for many years as a HC and other positions at several locations. He is a native West Virginian, and loves his state and his university. I can honestly say that he's a person that I am proud to call a Mountaineer. It is also evident that those people who have played for him and worked with him absolutely love the guy. Mike Tomlin, coach of the Pittsburgh Steelers, says that Stewart is one of the greatest men he has known.
5 Tell me about your blog .
I am from Wheeling, West Virginia and graduated with an MBA from WVU in 2005. West Virginia University has a very proud sports tradition and a great fanbase. Unfortunately, we are viewed by much of the nation and national media in a very poor fashion. We are a small state with a sparse population in the heart of the Appalachian Mountains, and we generally feel that we are treated li ke we don't belong. Thus, I felt I needed to take the opportunity to get out our side of the story on some things, and my blog is my initial step to accomplish this goal. I know it's only sports, but any little bet helps at this point.
For example, all the things that our ex-coach have been telling the media about WVU and the fans' treatment of his family are all over the national news. However, not a single source can corroborate any of his claims. West Virginia is in the middle of a PR battle, and its side will not be heard. I am one of the people that feels like I can do at least a little something to help get our word out.

Is the 2008 All Ready a Dud in the Making.

This is Quicksand at it's Finest Fokes.

This Team is Sinking Even Worst into mediocrity
Right now I'd Feel Safer on the Titanic
As Yet another Coach has left the Team
Mike Nelson Our D-line Coach Informed the Team he is not Returning
The Coaches are Starting to Jump Off the Sinking Ship.
1st Taaffe looks to leave now Nelson.

If Taaffe leaves and we will need to hire a new Head coach
The Staff we put Together maybe fired
As a New Head coach may want his own Staff
Bob and The Team would be Hook For more Loss of Salary.
Here the Flushing Sound that's Bob Money Going down the Toilet.
Who pays for the Screw ups
We do with Higher Ticket Prices to this Circus of a so Called Football Team.
A lot of Fans are Going to Stay Stop Ride I want to get off.

Is 2008 a Dud season in the making ?
I don't know for sure but it is looking that way
I think Everyone Need a Laugh Right now
So I Say Send in the Clowns

Is He Leaving ?

I Finally Decided I had Post Something about Charlie Taaffe Fiasco
Word out of West Virginia was Charlie Was taking the OC Job There
Will Still He Under Contact to Hamilton

The Ticats Issued a Statement Last night
They Where also on all Major News Stations Radio and TV.
Charlie was Staying on as Our Head Coach was the Word.

Today Word is that it is 50 -50
He is looking over an Offer From The Mountaineers To Be the OC and QB Coach
The Mountaineers Have a Top 10 Program in NCAA
Most of the Offensive Starters are Returning This year.
Plus there is a Roomer
Taaffe may get His Son A Scholarship with the School
Maybe a Fatter Pay Check As Well

This could not have Happen at Worst Time for the Ticats and Owner Bob Young.

A new Head Coach may want to Fire the Staff and Start over
This IMO would make 2008 Season a Wash.

This man is under Contact and Should be Held to it .
The Next few day in Ticat land will be Very Interesting

Ticats to Hire 3-4 DC

Former Calgary Stampeders Coach Denny Creehan

Who Use 3-4 defence is expected to be Name Ticats DC
media conference is set for Tuesday.

Creehan boasts over 30 years of coaching experience

Creehan spent three seasons in Edmonton as the special teams coach.

IMO this Wrong Hire For Hamilton as we Don't have the Personal to run a 34
It is very hard to find The players to run a 3-4
You need 4 Great linebackers (right now we have 1 maybe 2 if Big Dog Resigns)

You need two good Inside Linebackers to stop the Run.
To Outside guys who can run side to side.
You need Dominate Noise Tackle Something we don't have.
We do have Good DE's
You also need CB Defence Halfbacks who can Cover Something we are Lacking.

a Hard Hitting FS who can cover

Ticats Run Over Lions 30-18 Part 1 of 2

I will post the other 2 Parts as Follow Monday part 2 Wednesday Part 3
