TIGER-CATS BEEF UP DEFENCE

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed import linebacker Cameron Siskowic as well as import defensive tackles Darrell Adams, Alex Guerrero and Marcus Lewis.

Siskowic, a 6-2, 225-pound native of San Diego, California, played four seasons at Illinois State, earning the 2006 Gateway Football Conference Player of the Year award after recording 154 tackles (74 solo), two interceptions, two quarterback sacks and three forced fumbles in 13 games. The 23-year-old spent time with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals and Minnesota Vikings last year.

Adams, a 6-5, 282-pound native of Bayshore, New York, started two games for the Ticats in 2007 after signing as a free agent on September 25. The 24-year-old was named first team All-Atlantic 10 for three consecutive years during his four-year collegiate career at Villanova. Adams attended training camp with the NFL’s New York Jets before joining the Ticats last season.

Guerrero, a 6-1, 303-pound native of Brea, California, played four seasons at Boise State where he recorded 105 tackles, 21.5 tackles for a loss and eight sacks. The 24-year-old has previous pro experience with the NFL’s Minnesota Vikings, Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs, as well as NFL Europe’s Rhein Fire.

Lewis, a 6-3, 296-pound native of Lithonia, Georgia, earned second-team NAIA All-American honours with Urbana where he recorded 144 tackles, 31 tackles for loss and seven quarterback sacks and a school-record seven blocked kicks in two seasons with the Blue Knights. The 27-year-old has spent time with the NFL’s Cincinnati Bengals and Detroit Lions.
