Ticats Sign more for Camp

CATS SIGN FOUR FROM 2009 DRAFT CLASS, TWO MORE OFFENSIVE LINEMEN

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has signed four players selected in the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft; defensive lineman Scott McCuaig, running back Guillaume Allard-Cameus, defensive back Raymond Wladichuk and wide receiver Cassidy Doneff. The team has also signed non-import offensive linemen Daniel Bederman and Francis Daneau.

McCuaig, a 6-3, 229-pound native of Surrey, British Columbia was selected by the Ticats in the third round (22nd overall). The UBC product finished his CIS career as Canada West’s all-time quarterback sack leader with 27.5 career sacks. He also recorded 147 tackles en route to being named a two-time Canada West All-Star and a CIS First-Team All-Canadian in 2008.

Allard-Cameus, a 6-0, 215-pound native of Laval, Quebec was drafted by the Black and Gold in the fifth round (33rd overall). In four seasons at Laval, he carried the ball 274 times for 1,292 yards and 11 touchdowns while making 39 receptions for 318 yards and two majors. He was a member of Laval’s Vanier Cup championship teams in 2006 and 2008.

Wladichuk, a 6-0, 190-pound native of Vernon, British Columbia was selected by the Ticats in the fifth round (38th overall). He played three seasons at Simon Fraser, making 95.5 tackles, three interceptions and one quarterback sack. He also returned 22 kickoffs for 441 yards (20.1 avg).

Doneff, a 6-0, 183-pound native of Cochrane, Alberta was picked by the Cats in the sixth round (41st overall). The 2008 Wally Buono Award winner as Canada's top junior football player spent last season with Washburn University.

Bederman, a 6-1, 320-pound native of Toronto, Ontario played four seasons at Queen’s where he was named an OUA First-Team All-Star in 2008 and Second-Team OUA All-Star in 2007.

Daneau, a 6-3, 270-pound native of Sherbrooke, Quebec played four seasons at Sherbrooke as a tackle, guard and centre.
