TICATS SEND MORENO TO WINNIPEG

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that the team has acquired the Winnipeg Blue Bombers first round selection in the 2009 CFL Canadian Draft as well as the rights to non-import defensive lineman Corey Mace in exchange for import linebacker Zeke Moreno and a conditional draft pick.

"With the sudden illness of Tom Canada and his subsequent inability to play football for a lengthy period of time, the initial proposed trade obviously wasn't going to work,” said general manager Bob O’Billovich. “We worked hard with Winnipeg to find a solution and the agreed-to trade essentially gets us two first round talents for Zeke Moreno, and that's going to help us a great deal as we move forward."

Mace was Winnipeg’s second round (11th overall) selection in the 2007 CFL Canadian Draft. In 2007, he signed with the Buffalo Bills of the NFL as an undrafted free agent after playing college football at the University of Wyoming.
