Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today the signing of import defensive back Alan Zemaitis.
Zemaitis, a 6-2, 202-pound native of Rochester, New York was selected by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the fourth round (122nd overall) of the 2006 NFL Draft after a four-year collegiate career at Penn State. During his time with the Nittany Lions, Zematis recorded 181 tackles (130 solo), 12 interceptions, 34 pass knockdowns, 5.5 tackles for losses, two fumble recoveries and two forced fumbles in 43 games, earning three consecutive All-Big Ten selections.
Zemaitis attended training camp with the Ticats earlier this year.
The Ticats also announced the team has released import quarterback Timmy Chang and non-import wide receiver O’Neil Wilson.
