Purolator and the Hamilton Tiger-Cats have joined forces to help battle hunger in Hamilton, reports the Hamilton Spectator. A donation gets you entered in a draw to win a trip to the 2008 Grey Cup in Montreal. And if you donate at the Balsam entrance, Purolator will take your picture with the Grey Cup.
Former Ticats will be collecting non-perishable goods or cash donations at all Ivor Wynne entrances from 5 p.m. until the end of the first quarter.Last year, football fans brought in about 16,000 pounds of food for the Tackle Hunger drive. Purolator's Brian Collins is challenging Ticats fans to raise up to 20,000 pounds this year.
Food and cash collected at the drive will help feed 15,400 people who visit 10 food banks and seven meal programs throughout Hamilton.
So remember to bring your non-perishable food items to the Labour Day Classic and help your former Ticats and Purolator tackle hunger.
