1 Danny Kepley Edmonton Linebackers Coach

Danny Kepley is in his sixth year with the Eskimos, third as the club’s Linebacker Coach. He first joined the Eskimo coaching staff as a defensive assistant in 2002.

During his storied ten-year playing career (1975-1984), Danny played with an intensity and dedication that defined the linebacker position in the CFL. A native of Albemarle, N.C., Danny went on to star at East Carolina University. He also played an integral part in Edmonton's "Five in a Row" Grey Cup winning teams of the late 1970's and early '80's. A five-time Western and CFL All-Star and a three-time winner of the Schenley Award as the CFL's Outstanding Defensive Player (1977, '80, '81), Danny is a member of both the Canadian Football Hall of Fame and the Eskimo Wall of Honour at Commonwealth Stadium.

Following retirement, Danny spent one season (1985) as an assistant coach with the Eskimos. He also worked as a very successful and respected football analyst on CFRN radio and with both CBC TV and ESPN.

2 Dave Easley Special Team Hamilton.

Dave Easley, the Tiger-Cats new special teams coordinator, brings over two decades of coaching experience to the Black and Gold.

This season will mark Easley’s 15th campaign as a coach in the Canadian Football League. Easley began his CFL coaching career with the Toronto Argonauts as linebackers coach in 1991, helping the Argos earn a Grey Cup championship. He would move on to the B.C. Lions in 1993 as defensive line coach, a position he remained in until 1997 when he was promoted to become the Lions’ defensive coordinator. He guided the Lions’ defensive backs and special teams in 1998 and 1999, then joined the Montreal Alouettes as special teams coordinator in 2000-2001.

Easley’s coaching career would make another stop in Ottawa in 2002 when he was named defensive coordinator of the Ottawa Renegades. He spent another two seasons in Ottawa as the team’s special team’s coordinator before joining the Winnipeg Blue Bombers as their defensive backs coach in 2005.

Easley spent 2006 with the University of Manitoba, serving as the Bisons’ advisory to defensive backs coach and special teams coach. Before beginning his professional coaching career, Easley honed his skills with the UBC Thunderbirds, the Renfew Trojans and Kelowna High School.

Easley is the only coach in Canadian football history to capture national championships at the junior, university and professional levels.

Easley also enjoyed a successful CFL playing career. He made his playing debut in 1969 with his hometown B.C. Lions, earning the CFL’s Top Rookie honour after returning 50 punts for 359 yards and making four interceptions. He remained with the Lions until 1973 when he joined the Ticats. Easley would remain a Ticat until the middle of the 1976 season when he joined the Edmonton Eskimos.

3 Mike Roach BC Lions Defensive Line Coach

ike Roach returns for his third season coaching the Lions’ defensive line. Led by CFL All-Stars Brent Johnson, Tyrone Williams and Aaron Hunt, Mike’s D-line was a key ingredient in the team’s championship season in 2006.

As unit, the defensive line rang-up 39 of the club’s league-leading 59 quarterback sacks.

Roach joined the Lions from the Calgary Stampeders, where he served as secondary coach (1998-2001). His work was an integral part of the Stamp’s two Grey Cup victories 1998 and 2001.

Mike’s CFL coaching career began 24 years ago in Calgary where he spent four seasons (1982-’85). He moved to Edmonton after the 1985 season and spent the next three seasons with the Eskimos (’85-’87) which included a Grey Cup championship in 1987.

From 1989 to 1991, Mike served as linebackers coach for the Ottawa Rough Riders. He then joined the Winnipeg Blue Bombers in 1994 as an assistant coach and was promoted to defensive coordinator in 1996.

Prior to joining Calgary in 1998, Mike took a short hiatus from the CFL to coach linebackers at the University of Texas, El Paso in 1997.

Roach, who hails from Rapid City, South Dakota, and his wife Kaye share five children, Pat, Tim, Greg, Laura and Moi. Mike and Kaye make their off season home in Calgary.

Breaking News on who could be our new OC.

After Charlie Taaffe was Rehired this week
They Ticats Looked at Finding a New OC and DC
The Search Looks to be over for the OC

The Montreal Gazette has learned. the Hamilton Tiger-Cats May announce the addition of Marcel Bellefeuille to their staff. Bellefeuille was the Als' offensive coordinator in 2007, after serving as the team's running-backs and receivers coach the previous season. Bellefeuille, who couldn't be reached for comment, is expected to join the Ticats in a similar capacity.

Here is some back ground on Bellefeuille:
In his second season with the Alouettes, Bellefeuille becomes the Alouettes’ Offensive Coordinator following an extremely productive campaign as the team’s running backs and receivers coach. Upon his arrival with the Alouettes, Bellefeuille brought five years of experience with the Saskatchewan Roughriders, including three as Offensive Coordinator.

Under Bellefeuille in 2006, running back Robert Edwards broke the 1,000 yards rushing mark for a second consecutive season and finished third in the CFL with 1,137 yards on 239 carries. He led the league with 17 touchdowns, including 14 rushing majors. Two of Bellefeuille’s receivers, Ben Cahoon and Kerry Watkins, gained over 1,000 receiving yards as the Alouettes were the only team to have two 1,000-yard receivers.

Bellefeuille’s offences established themselves with the league’s best running game in each of his last three years with the Roughriders, gaining over 7,000 yards in that span. The Riders dominated the ground game under Bellefeuille, finishing first in the league in 2003, 2004 and 2005. The Riders boasted a 29-25-0 record over that span.

Bellefeuille’s teams have been in the playoffs every year since 2002. While he coached in Saskatchewan, the Riders participated in two West Division championship games. The Alouettes made the Grey Cup in his first year with the franchise. He has had CFL coaching experience at all offensive positions and his professional development includes NFL guest coaching experience with the Washington Redskins, the Atlanta Falcons and the Buffalo Bills.

Before joining the Roughriders, Bellefeuille had a successful three-year tenure as head coach of the University of Ottawa’s football program. Bellefeuille’s Gee-Gees won the 2000 Vanier Cup a year after he was named the 1999 OQIFC Coach of the Year. Before becoming the head coach, He served as an assistant for three seasons with the Gee-Gees from 1995 through 1997. Ottawa participated in the 1997 Vanier Cup, falling to UBC. Bellefeuille’s Alouettes colleague Noel Thorpe was on the UBC coaching staff at the time.

Bellefeuille made the jump to the university level following two different high school coaching stints in Ottawa from 1991 through 1995. He also led the Ottawa Sooners to a championship game at the midget level and served as head coach for the Crawley Raiders of Europe’s NFL Budweiser League in 1989.

Bellefeuille lives in Blainville with his wife Julie and their children Ymilie, Alexandra, Mathïas and Cédrik. He is a native of Ottawa, while Julie is a Quebecer, born in Gatineau.

Maybe we Should Trade Jesse now

A Running back who can't Stay on the Field is not worth Keeping

Okay I Said It Maybe we should Trade Jesse now
He is a Great Running back when He is Healthy
but So Far He can't stay that way.
From the time He Started Playing Football He's Got Hurt
Legs Injuries Cost him a Chance in The NFL Twice.

High School and Collage He got hurt.
Last year he was hurt so bad
He was put IR with Hamilton.
Shure He was a Very Good RB When he was Healthy.
Problem is Hamilton has 3 other Good Running back who Can stay Healthy.
Terry Caulley Ran Very well and IMO Should be the starter.
Anthony Davis Also Run Well.

What is a Good Running back If He Can't stay Healthy.
He rushed 98 times for 743 yards including a gaudy 7.5 yards per carry. He added 26 catches for 348 yards. He was named an Eastern Division all-star and was the team's nominee for top Canadian. Injuries were a Problem.

Lumsden hurt his right shoulder in late August in Montreal, forcing him to miss four Games.
He returned then injured the left shoulder in September in Winnipeg.

The club placed him on the nine-game injury list
He missed the final seven games of the season.

New general manager Bob O'Billovich has said that his star running back shows great potential, but must find a way to remain injury-free.

I Said Trade him He can't stay Healthy...
We have Many holes to fill
We may get 2 players for him.
Better then Watching go back IR This year.

I am sad to see Mike and Craig go there both great Guys and Good Football men.
Now Do we Keep Charile as our head Coach?

Greg Mohns :

One of the more experienced football minds in the CFL, Greg Mohns was a vital part of assembling the Toronto Argonauts 2004 Grey Cup Championship squad. Before joining the CFL, Mohns served in various scouting positions at the college and pro level with the Kansas City Chiefs (1983-1988), becoming the Coordinator of Pro Scouting in 1986 when the team made its first playoff appearance since 1971. Greg began his CFL career in 1991 with the Hamilton Tiger-Cats as the Director of Player Personnel before becoming the Assistant General Manager a year later. Mohns served one year as the Director of Player Personnel for the Memphis Mad Dogs (CFL) in 1995 before becoming the Assistant General Manager and Director of Football Operations for Toronto in 1996. In the season before Mohns joined the Double Blue, the club went 4-14. In 1996, that all changed as Mohns was a key part of the Argos’ 17-3 turnaround record and Grey Cup Championship.

In 1998, Mohns joined the B.C. Lions as Assistant to the President. When his good friend Adam Rita made the move to General Manager, Mohns became the Lions’ Head Coach and led the club to a 22-12 (.647) mark in 34 games. His impressive record, which included going 22-9 in his last 31 games, put him in third spot on the Lions’ all-time winning percentage list for head coaches. Mohns served one year as Director of Player Personnel with the San Francisco Demons (XFL) before returning to Toronto in 2003 as the Director of Football Operations and Player Personnel. Mohns was promoted to Assistant General Manager in 2005.

A native of Pasadena, California, Mohns began his love for football as an offensive lineman at Bradley University and Baker University, where he earned his B.S. and Masters from Oklahoma State, where he was on the coaching staff from 1972-1977. Mohns held various coaching positions at the NCAA level including working for the legendary Frank Kush at Arizona State, Bum Phillips and Wade Phillips at Oklahoma State and at UNLV. Mohns was the head coach at Ventura College, where he posted a 15-3-2 overall record from 1980-81. An avid musician who plays the drums, Mohns has played in bands with well-known jazz musicians Pat and Mike Metheny. Mohns has one son, Jason, 26.

Jim Baker :
General Manager Stampeders: Entering 3rd Season
Jim re-rejoined the Stampeder Football Club in 2005 with a diverse background through his involvement in several Football Leagues. He carries a great eye for talent for those players who are uniquely suited for the Canadian Football League and with his previous experience as an assistant/head coach Jim has the advantage of knowing the needs of the organization on the football field.
In 2005, Barker acquired several big key components which included: Henry Burris, Jeremaine Copeland, Alexandre Gauthier, Ken-Yon Rambo, Rahim Abdullah, Randy Chevrier, David Allen, Jermaine Chatman, Burke Dales, Sandro DeAngelis, Terrence Patrick, Coby Rhinehart, Wes Lysack, Tony Stallings and Trey Young. These changes were several of the moves in which turned the Stampeders record from 4-14 to 11-7.
He also played a big role in the 2005 Canadian College Draft in which the Stampeders selected players such as Offensive Lineman Godfrey Ellis, John Comiskey, Kyler Jukes and Receiver Brett Ralph along with 1st overall pick Miguel Robede.
Jim has coached football for over 30 years. He began coaching 10 & 11 year olds in Arcadia, California and is now recognized throughout North America as one of pre-eminent experts in his field. He is one of the few individuals in U.S. college football history that has experience at every level of the NCAA. In seven seasons of professional football he has coached three Championship clubs - two Grey Cups and the only XFL Championship ever. He has worked with some of the finest coaches in the history of the Canadian Football League including Don Matthews, the career wins leader amongst CFL coaches, and Ray Jauch, the very successful former Head Coach of the Edmonton Eskimos and Saskatchewan Roughriders.
His full-time career in Canada began in 1996 as a member of the Montreal Alouettes coaching staff. The Alouettes set a club record for wins that year, but lost in the Eastern Division Finals to the eventual Grey Cup champion Toronto Argonauts. In 1997, he was named the Co-Offensive Coordinator and Offensive Line Coach for Toronto and was instrumental in guiding an offense that many experts have called the greatest in the history of the CFL. In 1999 he was named the Head Coach of the Argonauts and became the youngest head coach in the CFL. Following the sale of that team in 2000 he moved back to the U.S. and coached the Los Angeles Xtreme to the only XFL Championship that league ever knew. His work with quarterback Tommy Maddox is well documented as Maddox went on to win the XFL Player of the Year award in 2001 and was named the NFL Comeback Player of the Year with the Pittsburgh Steelers. Barker then came back to Canada and again joined with Don Matthews as the Offensive Coordinator and Quarterback Coach to take the 2002 Montreal Alouettes to their first Grey Cup Championship in over 20 years. His quarterback, Anthony Calvillo, enjoyed his finest season as a pro and was named the Eastern Division Player of the Year. He then moved to Calgary where he served for one season as the Head Coach of the Calgary Stampeders.
Jim received his B.A. in Physical Education from U.S.C. in 1978 and his M.A. from San Francisco State University in 1984. Jim lives in Calgary with his wife Robin and they are the proud parents of four daughters - Erin, Lisa, Kate and Holly and grandparents to Heather, Brendan and Ricky.

Adam Rita: is entering his fourth season as the Argonauts’ GM/Vice President, Football Operations after spending 2003 as the Club's Assistant Head Coach and Offensive Coordinator. With over twenty years of experience in the Canadian Football League and six Grey Cup wins, Rita is a football executive of incredible depth and experience. In 2004, his first year in his current role, he led the Double Blue to its first Grey Cup win since 1997.

Named CFL Coach of the Year in 1991, Rita took the Toronto Argonauts to the Grey Cup Championship after a season that saw the team set a league-best record of 13 wins and 5 losses. In 1993, with the Edmonton Eskimos, Rita took home Grey Cup honours as Offensive Coordinator. From 1997 to 2002, he served in various managerial positions with the B.C. Lions and was the club's General Manager in 2000 as they brought home the 88th Grey Cup.

Raised on the Hawaiian island of Kauai, Rita first broke into the professional coaching ranks in 1983 as an Offensive Coordinator with the B.C. Lions under Don Matthews after 12 years spent coaching at the college level with his alma mater Boise State University, the University of Nevada-Las Vegas, and the University of Hawaii. After two short seasons in B.C., Rita’s offence led the Lions to their first Grey Cup win since 1964, a 37-24 win over Hamilton. After spending one season with the UBC Thunderbirds in 1989, Rita returned to the CFL, leading the offence of the Toronto Argonauts under Matthews. Rita replaced Matthews as Head Coach in 1991, leading the team to a league-best record of 13-5 and his first Grey Cup Championship as a Head Coach. In 1993, Rita won his third championship as the Offensive Coordinator of the Edmonton Eskimos under Ron Lancaster before splitting the next two seasons with Ottawa and the Memphis Mad Dogs. Rita reunited with Don Matthews in Toronto in 1996, capturing another championship trophy with Doug Flutie as quarterback. Rita made his return to the Lions as head coach in 1997 and was named the CFLPA’s Coach of the Year.

Adam has two sons, Kevin and Harrison, and one granddaughter, Jennifer. He lives in Mississauga with his partner, Karen.

Bob O'Billovich The Front Runner:

Bob O’Billovich has been involved with the CFL for over 25 years, serving as an administrator, a scout, an assistant coach and a head coach. Bob also spent time in front of the camera as part of TSN’s CFL television broadcasts.

Bob began his CFL career with the Ottawa Rough Riders in 1963, playing defensive back and quarterback. He began his CFL coaching career in 1974 as a guest coach with the Ottawa Rough Riders, and became an assistant in 1976, helping Ottawa to win their last Grey Cup. In 1982, he was named head coach of the Toronto Argonauts and went on to compile a record of 78-55-3, giving him the most wins in team history. Also with the Argos, Bob was named the CFL’s Coach of the Year in 1983 and 1987, and appeared in the Grey Cup three times, leading the East Division club to five first place regular season finishes.

Bob joined the BC Lions in 1990 where he served as the vice president of football operations, general manager and head coach, remaining in that position until the end of 1992. In 1993, Bob returned to the Argonauts to assume the duties of general manager and head coach. He then relinquished his head coaching duties in 1995, so he could focus his energy on player recruitment. He has been credited for scouting the talents of Willie Pless, Dave Dickenson, Mike “Pinball” Clemons, Darren Flutie, Mark Boerigter, Matt Clark, and Mike Trevathan.

Bob was an outstanding athlete at the University of Montana and was the only varsity athlete to earn three varsity letters in football, basketball and baseball, serving as a captain in all three sports. He was voted the school’s Athlete of the Decade between the years 1960 and 1970.

Bob and his wife Judy have three children, Tracy, Jodi and Coy.

Ticats Attendance Drops to 2nd Worst in League

The Hamilton Tigercats are Raising Ticket Prices even though 2007 Game Audience is down
The Avg Attendance for Hamilton was 23,201 for 2007 Season.
2nd Worst in The CFL just ahead of Montreal 22,903.

The Argo's had Better Crowds then Hamilton this year their Avg was 30,931
But The Team will go head with Raising Prices on it's Best Seats.
How can this be Justified with a 3 win Record in 2007 and Crowds not coming to the park

This Puzzles me as Fan.
We Talk about new Home or Repairs to Our Current Home
But can't even fill it and Ticket Prices going up and with the bad PR
How can they ask Fans for money.
This Team is a Mess.

Winning is everything. a Post from Bob Young

I know everyone on these forums, for that matter every Ticat fan everywhere, is frustrated and disappointed with our record over the last three seasons.

But you have no idea what frustration and disappointment is. The whole Ticat organization has been focused on one thing, namely winning, and we have not succeeded.

And with all the changes there really is only one person who can be blamed for our sorry record and that person is yours truly.

The are two signs of hope: One is I'm a lot better educated today than I was four years ago about running a professional sports team.

And the other is I'm a lot more fed up with the losing than any of you are.

I have not been as active on these forums as I used to be and I don't expect to be as active in future. Every minute I spend posting here is a minute I'm not spending helping figure out how to ensure we win in 2008. I will post from time to time, but don't expect to see posts from me regularly.

All you should expect from me and the Ticats is a more successful football team in future.

Cheers, Bob.

Helmet Giveaway Explanation from Adam provost

For Fan Appreciation Day this season we decided to try something different in regards to giving away prizes for which I’ve had many people comment on by email, forums and phone calls and wanted to make sure everyone understands the reasoning behind the promotion.

While doing the promotion during the second quarter of the game -- we had over 40 staff members throwing over 600 t-shirts into the crowd throughout the stadium. Of those 600 t-shirts there were 50 specially marked t-shirts with the player’s numbers signifying that they have won a game-used helmet. Of the 40 staff members throwing t-shirts into the crowd not one of them knew that they were throwing anything more than a regular t-shirt creating a truly random giveaway. Each section of the stadium on the south side, north side and endzone were distributed an equal amount of winning t-shirts.

The reason why we decided to go in this direction is the failure in previous fan appreciation days of executing prize giveaways. In the first year we tried to do giveaways through the Dofasco TigerVision and only 20% of prizes were ultimately picked up and we had complaints that they weren’t random enough. In the last two years we tried giving away prizes by the lineup cards but this was also controversial because we only pass out lineup cards to the first 15,000 fans in attendance and once again only a slightly larger number of prizes were claimed.

The success of this promotion was that over 95% of the helmets were claimed. Out of those 50 winners – 40 (or 80%) of them ended up being long time season ticket holders. In the end we wanted to ensure that every section in the stadium was represented, that the contest was completely random and that the prize of getting to meet one of the Ticats players on the field and getting their game-used helmet with chin strap and face guard was a prize that would be considered a once in a lifetime experience.

Thank you again for your support this season – we always appreciate your comments and feedback

CFL should not be playing on Sundays after Sept 1st

The CFL Going head on Sunday with NFL is a Mistake.
Once you Reach the Calender date of Sept 1st The CFL Should Stop Playing on Sunday.
The for next Two Weeks play on Sunday.

This Really Irks me as a Football fan in General.
With the Ticats out of Playoff hunt
Do I Stay home watch the NFL or Go IWS to Watch a 2 Win Football Team.
I had make the Choice this Week and I am Choosing to stay home.

Why Three Reasons I never like the Roughriders as a Draw.
2 our Record and 3 The Titans play Tampa at 1 PM.
Same Time as Cats Kickoff.
Now if we where play hunt the Choice would been the other way .

I watch Both games from Home I can do that if I am at Ivor Wynne.
The CFL must Stop Playing games on Sundays after Aug 31.
Also they BC Game in two weeks is at 6:30

Most people are Just coming home from Work.
What is CFL Doing . The Need to wake up when they Schedule Games

Can Offence line keep Casey on his Feet Tomorow?

Sunday at 1 Pm the Ticats Play Host To Roughriders
Fried Perry of Roughriders is 7th in QB Sacks with 8
The Roughriders have Sacked the QB 35 Times.

To Deal with Pass Rush Hamilton will Try and Get RB or TE on Defence Ends .
They will then try Run what is known as a Chip block.
This should help out Marko Cavka and Jonta Woodard at the Tackles.

I spoke Jojuan Armour I asked Him how They'll Handle QB Kerry Joesph
Where going to hit him run him down Side to side
where going him make Want stay in the pocket.
I also asked how Teams Respect the Ticats Defence.
They know in for A Battle When we are at home.

Saskatchewan's Leading WR DJ Flick Should Miss The game due to Family Issuies.
Flick a Former Hamilton ticat Was Traded in Off-season
When he did't take a 40% Pay Cut

IWS need Major Repair so let's fix it.

Ivor Wynne Stadium needs Major Repair Acroding to Scott Mitchell
Who told today's mayor's luncheon the 77-year old Ivor Wynne Stadium must undergo 40 to 50-million dollars in renovations in the next two or three years. If

If there isn't a commitment to those renovations, the Ticats would be forced to look at constructing a new stadium. I say Fix it.

Here are some way to come up with the Money for Repairs.

Name rights Should get around 20,000-30,000 Canadian.

Add a Personal Seat License to Each Seat 250.00 per season. X30,000 =$75,000

Where over a Millon Dollars just with that alone.

The seat Licences would go to Repair and Stadium upkeep.

Below is Info how these work:

A personal seat license gives the holder the right to buy season tickets for a certain seat in a stadium. This holder can sell the seat license to someone else if he no longer wishes to purchase season tickets. However, if the seat license holder chooses not to sell the seat licenses and does not renew the season tickets, the holder forfeits the license back to the team. Most seat licenses are valid for as long as the team plays in the current venue.

Seat licenses have been given various names- the most common term in North America is Personal Seat License and in Europe is Debenture. The primary reason sporting venues offer PSLs is that the proceeds are used to help pay the debt incurred during the construction of the stadium or arena. Also, many supporters feel that such licenses essentially give fans ownership of the seat. Opponents of PSLs see this as another way to extract money from the sports fans.

My Point is there are Way to raise the money to Repair the old Girl.

I Can see IWS Updated to look like it when it was Built in the 1930's

But with new Bathrooms and State of Art Items.

Flick Goes to press again to bash Ticats.

Once again DJ Flick Bashes the Ti cat Management in the Press.
DJ was once one of my Favorite Players
Last year was his 2nd Off year as a Ticat.
Marcel had every right to ask for pay cut

They way it was handle was wrong IMO.
DJ should Brought into the office with his Agent
Told Face to Face that his Production did match his Salary.

Here How I would dose it.
If I was the Ticats GM
________________________________________________________
I would call DJ's Agent at Home not DJ Personally.
Said We need see you and Client up here next week
Due to The CFL's new SMS
We need to talk about his Contact with the Ticats.

Once they Arrived in Hamilton
I would have Brought Them into my office and Closed the door.

Then it would go down Something like this :

DJ the past two Seasons your Production is down and with The new SMS coming in
We need to talk about you taking a Pay cut.
At 1st I was looking at 40%
But I know you have a Family on way

So I am now looking at 25% Pay cut
on a new 2 year deal + an Option for a 3rd.
I will also add Incentives for you get pay cut to drop down to 20%
If you have so many TD and So many Catches.
The Contact will also Slide on a Scale with your Production the following years of the Deal.

If Your Production Goes up your pay dose too.
But if it Drops so dose your Pay
This has to be done cause of the new SMS and your Production the past two seasons.

Do you or your agent have any questions?

I hoping we can work on a Deal that help us both.
If not I will have to deal or Release you DJ.
This Team will be under the SMS this season.

Thank you for Your Time.
Look over deal we meet again in 2 weeks..
____________________________________________________________________
Now if this would have been handled in this way
DJ may still be a Ti cat.
we have to remember where Marcel is from.
This system has work in Montreal since it became the Al's
After a Move from Baltimore

In Montreal you Produce or Take pay cut or leave.
This what Jim Pop dose in Montreal and it works.
But it May not work here in Hamilton The same way.

I've never liked players that air Dirty Landry in Public.
it Unprofessional and shows no class.

Both Sides where Wrong here lets just leave it at that.

Jeese Gone for rest of the Year

Hamilton, Ontario – The Hamilton Tiger-Cats announced today that running back Jesse Lumsden will be placed on the nine game injured list and will miss the remainder of the 2007 CFL season.

“Jesse was having an all-star calibre season and everyone was given a glimpse of what he’s capable of,” said general manager Marcel Desjardins. “He has shown that he is going to be a major force in this league and will be a key part of our team’s future.”

In ten games this season, Lumsden recorded 98 carries for 743 rushing yards with three touchdowns and leads all CFL running backs averaging 7.6 yards per carry. Lumsden has also proved himself to be a sure-handed receiver hauling in 26 catches for 348 receiving yards and one touchdown and currently sits fifth in the CFL in yards from scrimmage with 1,091 total yards.

Expect Terry Caulley to get the start at Half Back the Rest of the Way

How the Ticats get Ready for away games

On Rainy Thursday Morning.

The Ticats hit the Field Getting Ready for a Trip to the Peg.

For the 1st Time The Team Pump in Crowd Noise From Ivor Wynne Speakers.

Rich William Called his Cadence

He the then Lift his foot one to get ready to step the ball

A 2nd time to snap it...

I spoke with Casey Printer and Ask Him about Dealing with Crowd noise

He said the other ways to get things done. On the Field of play.

If I want a Receiver to move I will move head or Arm letting them know to go in Motion

Head Coach Charlie Taffee told me Crowed noise really not been much Factor this Season

He said Last game in Winnipeg with Being Milt Stegal Day they Extra Loud

He thought pumping the Noise would help his offence this week.

I spoke to roger Dunbrack who Play DT for Hamilton

Noise is normally not Factor for The Front 8 because they can see the ball Being Snapped.

MLB Zeke Moreno told me for the MLB who Calls the Signals for Defense

He will do similar thing as QB Dose

Tap his shoulder or moves his arms Instead of Talking.

They are Ways to get out what need to stay with out talking

Pro Football away From Family

It is hard enough to cope with the 1-10 losing Season.
Our team faces but how do the Managers, Coaches and Players cope without their families. For some of the players being close to the Canada-Us border isn’t too much of an inconvenience just ask linebacker, Jujuan Armour.

On the flip side you have the quarterback Timmy Chang from Hawaii. The distance is too great to be able to go back and forth on a weekly basis. Fortunately, the power of the Internet has made it easier on the players to stay in touch. Also VOIP or Voice Over IP and Email has also made it easier but still not the personal touch.

Skype is a life saver when the men want to talk to their families. One member of the team told me that some of them have installed Broad Band Voice Modems from Primus. Some of the members use Broad Band phone companies..

Some players will write emails just to pass the time away. There are still others that will use cell phones. The players will try what they can to bridge the gap between themselves and their families. Unfortunately, for the players that use cell phones the bills are anywhere from $200-1000 a month.

I also spoke with GM Marcel Desjardins

He says that for the young players it is very hard on them. Some have just graduated from college and they are not used to the amount of free time on their hands. Their college schedules were very hectic but now that they have arrived at the Pro level they are only with the team 4 hours a day 4 days a week.

Now the problem comes as to what these men do with the extra time. With no family nearby and most of their friends a fair distance away can become a recipe for trouble. For example take a close look at NFL’S Adam Jones of the Titans. Mind you there are the players that hang around and watch and spend time with the other players creating bonds.

I have heard from the Coach and other players that the Team in essence become their foster family. Each of the players learn and grow with each other as they face the loneliness of their families so far away. They become there own support group.

Then I spoke to the Coaches and how they have developed coping mechanisms. They’ll tell you that for most of them that their family has grown up. One Coach said if he was home he would be driving his wife crazy while another says he’d be home alone because his wife works a lot.

Coach Taffe finds it very difficult because his son is in his senior year at highschool and plays on the football team. Although, he talks to his wife twice a day it doesn’t help knowing he is missing his child’s games. However, next year should make coping for him a little easier. His son is going to college and his wife will be coming here. He says going home to an empty house brings on the loneliness.

So here’s to the guys and their families and we wish them all well.
